Pleasant weather makes public parks a major attraction during Eid

DOHA: Public parks have emerged as a major tourist attraction for citizens and expatriates during Eid Al Fitr holidays due to the pleasant weather.

Expecting a growing number of visitors during the festivity, the Ministry of Municipality extended the working time of public parks. Family parks open from 5am to 1am, while public parks operate 24 hours a day during the Eid holiday.

The number of public parks in the State of Qatar has increased from 56 parks in 2010 to 147 parks in 2024, with an increase of 163%.

The area of public parks, plazas, and green spaces on the Corniche belonging to the Ministry of Municipality has reached more than three million square metres.

In December, last year, the Ministry of Municipality opened Rawdat Al Hamama Public Park, which features the longest air-conditioned outdoor track in the world with a length of 1,197 metres, with the aim of encouraging the public to practice jogging and walking.

There is diverse range of parks that provide residents and visitors with beautiful, green spaces to relax, play, and enjoy outdoor activities.
