Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) continued to host a series of captivating events, drawing in large crowds eager to experience the celebratory ambiance on the second day of the Eid Al Fitr festivities.
The Katara Corniche was the venue for a range of activities that enhanced the joy of the Eid celebrations.
One of the standout attractions was the children’s play titled, “The Adventures of Adnan the Pirate—The Mind is a Blessing,” which is categorised as street theatre.
This production was penned by Dr. Hanan Sadiq, directed by Ali Al Khalaf, and featured a talented cast of Qatari artists, including Ali Al Sharshani, Shahad Al Jassim, and Faisal Al Jassim, along with other emerging talents, supported by a group of performance artists.

Dr. Hanan Sadiq remarked, “This play complements the other theatrical offerings that Katara has showcased during various holidays. It conveys values and principles through an artistic medium that captivates children and familiarizes them with the theatre’s rich and diverse expressive capabilities.”
She noted that the performances garnered a substantial audience of children and families, achieving notable engagement, which reflects its success. The first performance is scheduled for approximately 6.15pm, followed by a second show at 8.45 pm.
Additionally, Freej Katara has been a significant draw for visitors during Eid.
Saeed Al Kuwari from the Beach Administration highlighted that Freej Katara is a historic neighbourhood that evokes the essence of traditional life, evident in its architecture and the variety of shows and activities available. These include children’s workshops, competitions, and numerous prizes, alongside the participation of productive families and various artisans, all aimed at recreating traditional markets to showcase Qatari culture.
The enchanting fireworks display also continues to attract large audiences.
Today, the third day of Eid, the final show will be held at 8.30pm on Katara Corniche, illuminating the sky with cheerful colours, bringing joy and happiness to the hearts of those present. These events are part of Katara’s Eid activities.
The Qatari Ardha also attracts spectators of various nationalities, as participants line up in opposing rows, chanting enthusiastic songs that express pride in the leadership and the nation. Ardha is an essential part of Qatar’s cultural heritage, combining poetry with organized movement.
Among the most prominent activities presented during Katara’s Eid celebrations was the Police Music Band, in which the band members performed harmoniously, combining performance and rhythm in beautiful visual displays. This made this show one of the most impressive events that impressed the audience.
The Asian and African folklore performances were also a draw for visitors, as artistic groups performed popular dances from various African countries, in addition to distinguished performances from Egypt and Syria.
These performances provided the opportunity for visitors to enjoy a rich cultural diversity.

It’s worth noting that Eid celebrations at Katara continue until the fourth day of Eid, with a rich and diverse programme that appeals to all age and social groups.
