Doha: The new year comes with a happy news for motorists as Qatar Petroleum has slashed the prices of premium and super grade petrol and diesel from January 2019.
A statement on Qatar Petroleum website showed that premium grade petrol will cost QR 1.50 in January, which is 30 dirhams less than December rate.
Meanwhile, super will now be available for QR 1.55 in January, which is also 30 dirhams less than December rate.
In December also the price of both grades were reduced by 25 dirhams compared to November.
The diesel prices have also been reduced by 25 dirhams to QR 1.75.
When the first list was announced in June 2016 the premium petrol was QR1.20 per litre, super QR1.30 per litre and diesel QR1.40 per litre.
From April 2016, the Ministry of Energy and Industry had started pegging the fuel prices to the international market.
From September 2017, it is Qatar Petroleum who is announcing the monthly price list.
