Tehran: An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale shook Ravar city in the southern Iran province of Kerman early Thursday.
Iran's Seismological Center said that the quake epicentered in an area located at 31.08 degrees latitude and 57.08 degrees longitude, according to Iran's (IRNA) News Agency.
The quake caused no damage.
Iran sits astride several major faults in the earth's crust, and is prone to frequent earthquakes, many of which have been devastating.
The worst in recent times hit Bam in Kerman province in December 2003, killing 31,000 people and destroying the city's ancient mud-built citadel.
