The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are preparing for the possibility of a substantial attack on the Israel-Syria border, following the recent attacks in Sinai and Paris, the Israeli daily (Haaretz) reported.
Israeli security sources said that the threats made by ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi toward Israel gives a new meaning to the presence of two arms of this organization, one in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights and the other in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula.
The sources said that ISIS affiliate Shuhada al-Yarmouk, which operates in the Southern Golan Heights and made up of some 600 members and tens of tanks and armored vehicles, can launch armed attacks against Israeli forces.
