Doha: Doha is set to host the World Health Organization's (WHO) Walk the Talk event under the title ‘Walk the Talk: Health for All Challenge’ on Nov 19, one day before the official launch of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The event, which comprises the legacy of promoting physical activity, as well as a walk and many interactive sports activities, is intended to encourage the physical activity to promote health for a healthy and sustainable future.
It is organised in cooperation between the Ministry of Public Health and WHO, within Sport For Health partnership in collaboration with FIFA and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
It offers the attendees the opportunity to practise several interactive sporting activities that will be available from 8 to 11am on Saturday, Nov. 19 for participants to enjoy.
Those attending the event at Al Bidda Park in person on Nov. 19 are required to pre-register online to confirm their place, and those unable to make it to Doha can take part in the event virtually by tracking their performance through a dedicated mobile app, making the event accessible to people across the world.
WHO’s Walk the Talk event was established in 2018 as part of the organisation’s 70th anniversary celebrations. Since its inception, the events of Walk the Talk have taken place in cities across the world including Geneva, New York and Cairo.
