DOHA: More than 1.29 million visitors have accessed Qatar e-Government Portal – Hukoomi — in the past seven months of this year.
A total of 293,048 visitors browsed more than 1.6 million pages on the portal in July this year, according the Hukoomi website. In June, 229,871 visitors browsed 1.15 million pages, showing a trend of increasing usage of Hukoomi services.
The portal includes more than 1,400 services, with more than 650 online services that can be completed online by individuals, visitors, businesses, and government entities, such as health, education, business services, and much more.
According to Monthly Bulletin issued by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statiscis, 28,040 health cards were renewed via Hukoomi.
In April this year, Hukoomi was ranked first in web accessibility for Assistive Technology Center (Mada) out of 124 entities.
The role of Hukoomi, is to make government information and services more efficient and effective in order to be accessible to all citizens, residents, visitors and businesses. It also aims at raising awareness on the public programmes, events, news and government initiatives, in line with the objectives defined by Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy.
Through cooperation with the government entities and public service providers, Hukoomi portal allows users to access information and services online, easily and quickly. The portal provides a number of important e-services, as well as official documents, service application forms and general information. The development of the e-government performance in Qatar, aided by Hukoomi, has contributed positively to delivering exceptional achievements. Hukoomi aims at improving service delivery to all segments of the public and promote levels of security and accuracy of government information on the internet. It also aims to contribute to the realisation of Qatar National Vision 2030, as well as the social and economic development using information and communications technology (ICT).
