Rome: A fire broke out at a Tesla dealership on the outskirts of Rome early Monday, destroying at least 17 electric vehicles (EVs), local authorities confirmed.

Rome fire brigade told Xinhua that an investigation has been launched, and that arson is among the possible causes.

Despite a swift response from firefighters and police, the flames quickly engulfed 17 EVs in the showroom and damaged parts of the dealership's structure.

Declining to confirm any specific cause, local authorities said they are reviewing surveillance footage from at least seven cameras and examining the aftermath to collect evidence.
