Doha: As the month of December begins tomorrow it marks the beginning of winter in Qatar
Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) said in a post on twitter: "Winter season start in December and it is characterized by the frequent passage of frontal system that travel from Europe."
QMD stated that "normally unstable weather is noticed in the leading ledge of these systems and blowing winds of fresh to strong."
December also marks as the season for Shamal winds.
The mean daily temperature for the month is 19.7 degrees Celsius. This is significantly lower than last month's mean temperature of 24.7 degrees Celsius.
The lowest and highest temperature recorded in December is 6.4 degrees Celsius (1963) and 32.7 degrees Celsius (2010).
