Bahrain crowned Gulf champions

DOHA: Bahrain beat hosts Qatar 3-2 in a thrilling final to clinch the GCC Volleyball Championship title yesterday.
Coached by Nezar Chikil, Bahrain came from 6-3 down in the decider to claim their fourth title with a 19-25, 31-29, 25-21, 13-25, 15-11 scoreline at Al Arabi Stadium in Doha yesterday.
Qatar drew first blood in the final, winning the first set 25-19.
Backed by a strong support inside the stadium, Qatar had a lead of 16-12 in the second set, but Bahrain fought back to make it 28-all. 
The visitors levelled the score 1-1, after winning the second set 31-29.
After winning the second set, Bahrain went 2-1 up, claiming the third 25-21.
Watched by Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Secretary General Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) President Khalid Ali Al Mawlawi, Qatar made sure the final went into a decider, as they went on to claim the fourth set 25-13.
Bahrain later grabbed the decider winning 15-11.
Earlier, Kuwait finished third after beating Oman 3-1 (21-23-25, 25-11, 26-24). THE PENINSULA
