Doha: As the school reopening date approaches nearer a senior official with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education said that the precautionary measures implemented in schools make it safe to return in light of the ongoing pandemic

“We do not know when the pandemic will end, and we must live with it and achieve the goals of the educational process by continuing it. We expect the cooperation of parents to make the current school year a success,” Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Fawzia Al Khater, said during an interview with Qatar Radio this morning.

“We have put in place plans for public and private schools that will take care of all expected scenarios regarding the pandemic situation in Qatar,” she added.

The school hours for a student are a maximum of two days per week and each student will receive their schedule from the school in advance.

“We are working on creating a distinct educational platform for students and it will be completed soon. Our goal in amending the educational plan is to bridge the educational gap after half a year of implementing the distance education system,” Al Khater explained and added that the strength of the technological infrastructure in Qatar is promoting the education sector and raising the level of students and teachers.

In the interview, she also recommended that the parents drop the students in their own cars and not school buses.
