Covid-19 cases dip below 200 in Qatar on Aug 30

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 168 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 179 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 115430.

Ministry also reported death of an 87-year old from the virus.

Of the reported new cases 9 are from people travelling back to Qatar.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 118,575 and there are 2948 active cases under treatment. So far, 197 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 4,481 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 624,609 tests. There are 33 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

Three patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 66.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

Adherence to physical distancing.

Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

Wearing a face mask.

Washing hands regularly.
