Qatar's Younousse, Tijan clinch silver medal in Sochi

Qatar’s top beach volleyball pair of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan yesterday clinched silver medal at the Sochi 4-star stop on the 2021 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. The fourth-seeded pair from Qatar fell to the Polish pair of Piotr Kantor and Bartosz

Losiak 1-2 with a 21-17, 21-23, 10-15 score-line in what was their fourth back-to-back final. Their World Tour showcase as a team now features two gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

Meanwhile, the bronze went 14th-seeded Christiaan Varenhorst and Steven van de Velde of the Netherlands. It was the second World Tour podium for the Dutch pair, after another bronze they won back in May 2019 at the Itapema 4-star.
