Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 211 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 240 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 129,124.
Out of the 211 new cases, 173 are community cases and 38 from travelers returning from abroad.
The Ministry also announced one death - aged 59 - who was receiving the necessary medical care.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
5,314 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 965,389 tests.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 132,150 and there are 2,795 active cases under treatment.
There are 54 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital 378.
Three patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 41.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing.
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
- Wearing a face mask.
- Washing hands regularly
