There is so much going on in Doha, from movie screenings, book club meetings to the newly opened maze in Dahl Al Hammam Park. Here is the list of interesting activities happening out and about Qatar.

Al Markhiya Gallery hosts exhibition by famous Iraqi artist

Seasoned contemporary Iraqi artist Saadi Al Kaabi has proved the strong appeal his distinct oeuvre has to art enthusiasts when he opened his debut show at Al Markhiya Gallery at the Fire Station yesterday.

The exhibits comprising 14 etchings and 11 mixed media works have been executed using Kaabi’s unique style he introduced, developed and perfected in the last five decades of his distinguished career in art.

Streets of Doha | City of Play: The Maze goes to Dahl Al Hammam Park

“Streets of Doha” Maze at Dahl Al Hammam Park is an exciting public installation for families to enjoy the feel of old Doha streets. There will also be a selection of traditional Qatari games. Children can enjoy creating their own collages of the existing streets of Doha and will be able to design their dream spaces.

Free admission.

Special family activity every Friday 4pm – 8pm

Doha Bookworms March meet-up

Doha bookworm club is hosting their first book club meeting with their members in QNL.

It is going to be an evening filled with books, friends and coffee.

UCL Qatar and Mathaf: Family Day Workshop!

UCL Qatar students in collaboration with Mathaf, Arab Museum of Modern Art have arranged for a fun family day with an interesting workshop titled “Send a message through the sky”.

The symbol of the dove which is a universal symbol of peace and hope, will be used in the family workshop which requires families to design a Dove using the different colourful materials turning 2D material into a 3D Dove.

Each family is encouraged to write a letter that can be attached to their dove, and send their message in the sky at Mathaf’s garden.

Film Screening: When I Saw You

 

“When I Saw You” is a feature narrative by Annemarie Jacir. The film will be screened in Katara.

When I Saw You is the story of people affected by the times around them, in search of something more in their lives. A journey full of adventure, love, humor, and the desire to be free. A story of the human spirit that knows no borders.
