Katara Traditional Dhow Festival kicks off today

Doha, Qatar: The activities of the 13th edition of the Katara Traditional Dhow Festival will begin at 3:30pm today on Katara Beach, which will continue until December 2.

This year has a rich and diverse programme with the participation of 12 countries including Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Iraq, Palestine, Portugal, Iran, Tanzania, India.

The event will be full of variety of artistic and cultural activities, in addition to the traditional marine competitions to be held on Katara Beach No. 2, such as the traditional rowing competition, which will be held at 3:30 pm on December 1, and the traditional sailing competition on December 2.

The festival includes many marine museums that are full of rare collectibles and provide a vivid picture and complete picture for visitors of the traditional life of parents and grandparents in the era of pearl diving, in addition to many handicraft shops displaying a wide range of them on Katara Beach, where an elite group of skilled craftsmen will practice their crafts.

The festival also offers a group of workshops and entertainment activities for children.
