DOHA: Hassad Food, Qatar’s premier investor in the agriculture and livestock sectors announced yesterday the appointment of Fahad Abdulla Turki Al Subaiey (pictured) as Chief Executive Officer based in Doha.
Reporting directly to Nasser Al Hajri, the Chairman of Hassad Food Company, Al Subaiey has now the overall global responsibility for the company’s growth strategy, investment plans and operations.
On Al Subaiey’s appointment, Nasser Al Hajri said: “We are excited to have Fahad Al Subaiey on-board with us and I am confident that with his strong background and leadership experience he will be able to drive the company towards achieving its vision in becoming a leading global provider of high quality food products. The decision of the CEO appointment came as part of Hassad Food’s new global business and corporate strategy, which was launched in January 2013.”
Prior to joining Hassad Food, Al-Subaiey held multiple international roles and his last assignment was the Executive Director (Gas & Power) at Qatar Petroleum International.
Commenting on his new post, Al Subaiey said: “I am excited to take part in leading Hassad Food’s mission and journey in owning, developing and operating efficient, profitable, and growth-orientated global business brands that contribute to the welfare of Qatar.”
With over 20 years of experience and a degree in Chemical Engineering, Al Subaiey’s profound leadership expertise led him to chair and set on a diversified portfolio of boards management committees including Chairman of the Board, South Hook Gas – UK; Board Member in the Adriatic Terminal – Italy; Dolphin Energy Limited Management Committee Member; Qatar Chemical Company II Project, Executive Committee Member; Gas Processors Association – GCC Chapter (GPA) Chairman & Executive Committee Member; and Chairman, Board of Governors of the Awsaj Academy, a member of Qatar Foundation.
