Doha: The maximum speed allowed after the Industrial Area intersection on Salwa road is now 140 km/h, a senior official from Traffic Department disclosed.

In a statement to Al-Sharq Arabic newspaper, Major Jaber Mohamed Rashid Odaiba, Assistant Director of Media & Traffic Awareness at the General Directorate of Traffic, said that all roads have clear signboards mentioning the maximum speed and the speed limit on Salwa Road is 120 km/h after the industrial area intersection.

The traffic department had allowed an extra 10 km/h as a percentage of error on this road, but since Salwa Road is very long, they have added an additional 10 km/h to the maximum speed of 120 km/h taking the allowed maximum speed to 140 km/h. He added that there is continuous monitoring on the road through radars or traffic patrols.
