QICCA concludes ‘Qualification and Preparation of Arbitrators Programme’

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber recently concluded the ‘Qualification and Preparation of Arbitrators Programme,’ held in cooperation with Qatar University’s Centre for Continuing Education.

The programme aimed to prepare and qualify Qatari personnel through a scientific and training curriculum focused on arbitration.

QICCA Board Member for International Relations, Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali Al Thani, attended the concluding ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Law College.

Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali delivered the graduation certificates to the 23 trainees from various governmental, semi-governmental, and other entities following the conclusion of the final stage, titled ‘Practical Mock Trial.’

In a statement, Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali said that the programme has seen remarkable participation from many trainees across governmental and semi-governmental entities, including lawyers, engineers, and individuals interested in arbitration.

He noted that since its launch in 2007, the programme has trained and qualified numerous arbitrators, equipping them with comprehensive knowledge of arbitration and practical experience in procedural, practical, and legal aspects—key skills essential for arbitration field.

The program, held at Qatar University from January 19 to February 19, included five stages covering the concept of commercial arbitration and its practical applications, arbitration case management procedures, drafting arbitration awards and their key components, and practical training, including a mock trial with the participation of all trainees.
