Doha: Ambassador of India to Qatar, H E Dr. Deepak Mittal hoisted the National Flag to celebrate 72nd Republic Day of India with enthusiasm and fervour at the premises of the Embassy yesterday.
Addressing the event, Dr. Deepak Mittal said: “We are going to launch virtual services app enabling every Indian in Qatar to connect with the Embassy availing services to their door steps.” He said that the Embassy is also working to set up call center where everybody can call to have their grievances registered and addressed in no time.
“On this occasion, I would like to assure to all our Indian nationals that Indian Embassy in Doha is your home. We are at your service 24/7. This day we pledge to reach out to each Indian national using technology, physically and otherwise to extend services to their door step,” said the Ambassador. He said with the support Indian community apex body organisiations the Embassy will reach out to each and every Indian and extend its services.
“The sport is very high agenda in Qatar and really it is matter of pride that we are all working for very successful FIFA World Cup 2022. Qatar is going to host Asian Games 2030 which is also a matter of pride for all of us,” said the Ambassador.
Dr. Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India to Qatar hoisted the National Flag at the Embassy premises followed by the national anthem. The function was followed by a recital of patriotic song by Bangiya Parishad Qatar.
The event was simultaneously live streamed online on social media handles and on You Tube Channel of the Embassy for people to attend the event virtually. Ambassador also interacted with Indian community and apex bodies heads. The Ambassador read the address by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind on the eve of 72nd Republic Day.
“India with its vibrant democracy has rightfully earned its respect as a responsible and trustworthy nation. We would do well to keep reminding ourselves of our Constitutional mantras. I have said this before, but I will repeat that we should make it a part of our daily routine to meditate upon the life and thought of our Father of the Nation. We must make all efforts to wipe tears from every eye. Equality is the watchword for the great project of our Republic,” the President of India said in the written message read out at the ceremony.
“Let us all continue on the path of ‘constitutional morality’ which Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar mentioned in his speech to the Constituent Assembly on November 4, 1948 while presenting the draft of the Constitution. He clarified that ‘constitutional morality’ means supremacy of the values enshrined in the Constitution,” the President’s message said.
