Doha: Qatar will participate in the global campaign organized by European Space Agency to monitor and photograph DART collision with Asteroid Dimorphos orbiting around Asteroid Didymos on Monday evening until the next day morning.

The astronomer expert at the Qatar Calendar House, Dr Bashir Marzouk stated that the monitoring site will be at Al Kharrara area south of the State of Qatar, where experts will capture dozens of images when the impact is expected to happen at 2 am Tuesday morning. Predicting that the collision will not be visible to the naked eye, the monitoring team will attempt to utilize 14 Inch telescope to monitor the Asteroid.

The QU Astronomy Club will be present at the monitoring site along with the professionals from Qatar Calendar House and Arab Astronomical Society and others, in addition to dozens of those interested in astronomy from Qatar.
