Riyadh: The Ministry of Culture participated in the third meeting of the cultural committee concerned with the implementation of the cultural strategy of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC), which concluded its work yesterday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The two-day meeting discussed updating annual plans for joint Gulf cultural activities and events.
Director of the Department of Culture and Arts and member of the Permanent Committee for Arab Culture Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi, stated that the meeting dealt with many topics on the agenda, including discussing the implementation of the cultural strategy 2020-2030 approved by their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries, and following up on the implementation of the decisions of their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Culture, in addition to discussing and developing its mechanisms to serve many areas of joint cultural work in the GCC countries.
The meeting concluded with a number of recommendations, which will be presented to the next meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Culture in the GCC countries, which is expected to be held in Oct. 2022 before the meeting of the Ministers of Culture in the GCC countries.
