Doha: Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has launched a creative awareness programme to keep the beaches of Qatar clean.
Department of Public Hygiene and Department of Natural Reserves of MME, in cooperation with Seashore Group, has put up some very creative notice boards on beaches urging people not to litter and throw plastic waste in designated bins.
They have also installed specially designed containers shaped as a giant fish for plastic waste.
In order to maintain public cleanliness, while urging beachgoers to put plastic waste in special containers, MME reminded of the great damage plastic does to the marine environment.
