Ambassador of Kuwait to Qatar, H E Hafiz Mohammed Al Ajmi
DOHA: Envoys of Kuwait and China have praised the speech of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, delivered on the advent of Ramadan.
They said the speech comprehensively assessed the current situation and challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and offered solutions to overcome the pandemic.
Ambassador of Kuwait to Qatar, Hafiz Mohammed Al Ajmi said that the speech of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was comprehensive in reviewing what the current phase requires in the face of COVID-19 pandemic.
“It (speech) has reviewed the existing challenges, and the efforts made by Qatar and which is still doing against this pandemic, and the measures and decisions the country has taken to protect citizens and residents from that global epidemic to make us feel safe and secure,” said the Ambassador in a press statement.
H H the Amir had said that Qatar will never risk people's health and his Highness’s directives to follow transparency from the first moment to deal with the pandemic, said the Ambassador. H H the Amir also gave directives that the process of medical tests would continue and that Qatar has also established field hospitals that can accommodate thousands of people.
“I would like to acknowledge the invitation of His Highness to the world’s leaders to cooperate, not compete in the field of vaccine production, treatments, and cooperation to face the economic and social consequences of the pandemic, which is represented by low oil prices and a possible of economic recession in the global economy,” said the Ambassador.
He further said among other important points in the speech is that H H the Amir said that the next stage will not be easy for economic and financial sector of any of the countries in the world, including countries whose energy export is their main source of income, and that current and future risks posed by the virus target everyone.
The Ambassador of China to Qatar, Zhou Jian also praised the speech of H H the Amir. The Ambassador said that only by joining hands together in face of difficulties, we can win against the pandemic. China will continue to work closely with Qatar and the international community toward this common direction, he said.
“On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, I would like to extend my sincere greetings to His Highness Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and all our dear Qatari brothers,” said the Ambassador.
“I have watched the speech of His Highness the Amir. I would like to express my deep appreciation and admiration of His Highness’s firm gesture to put people’s health and safety as the top priority, and especially his remarks on the importance of international cooperation to counter the pandemic,” he said in a press statement.
