The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has clarified all forms of gatherings which are banned under law to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“The prohibited forms of gathering include social functions at homes, majlis, mourning, Corniche, courtyards of mosques, social gatherings, beaches and public parks,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry has also said that vehicles are not included in the decision if the travel is for necessary purposes.

The Ministry further said on its social media accounts that the decision to ban gatherings in parks and open beaches will provide a safe and healthy environment. “It is important to stick to it to ensure safety for all.”

Taking more measures, the Ministry has urged people to benefit from the e-services of the MoI though Metrash2 and MoI website and get their documents delivered by Qatar Post.

“Most of our services are available online through Metrash2 and MoI e-services portal. Get the required documents at your doorstep through Qatar Post option,” said the Ministry.

It also advised people to stay at home. “Stay away from all forms of gathering and support the efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country.”

To participate in the awareness campaign about the necessity of staying at home to limit the spread of the virus, the traffic patrols are promoting hashtag #StayAtHomeForQatar.

The Ministry said that community’s security in general and health security in particular are a shared responsibility.

“It requires your strict compliance with decisions and precautionary measures to protect society.

“Your commitment to the precautionary measures taken by the state to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country means that you fulfill your national and moral obligation towards yourself and others,” the Ministry added.
