Doha: School admission time has always been a stressful time for Indian parents in Qatar as getting their wards enrolled into an affordable school is not only tough, but very uncertain due to the limited availability of seats in Qatar.
The Indian Embassy in Qatar has taken notice of the issue and has asked parents who have trouble in this regard to send details.
The embassy has received numerous requests from parents seeking admission for their wards in an Indian school.
The embassy said in a circular that the details will help them take up the matter with Ministry of Education
“The Embassy has received a number of requests for assistance, citing non-availability of seats in Indian schools in Doha. In order to take up the issue with the Supreme Education Council, Ministry of Education, we need to get a better sense of the number of children who have failed to get admission in an Indian school in Doha,” the embassy said in a press release.
In case you didn’t get admission for your child, send an e-mail to [email protected] with the following details: -
1. Name of the student & QID No
2. Age of the student
3. Nationality of the student
4. School desired
5. Class/Grade desired
6. Father’s name
7. Contact telephone
The problems regarding the admission in Indian schools started after a prominent school with the capacity to accommodate a very large number of students was asked by the authorities to reduce their strength to the sanctioned number set by the ministry. To achieve the school have been forced to cease intake in lower classes. Many points to the trickledown effect it set rolling.
Even though many new Indian schools have opened up in the past couple of years they were not able to absorb the students as they are much smaller in size and few of them are in higher fees category.
