Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent yesterday cables of congratulations to the Amir of the State of Kuwait H H Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, on the occasion of his country’s National Day, QNA reported.
Later in the day, the Embassy of Kuwait in Doha yesterday celebrated the 58th National Day and 28th Liberation Day Anniversary in the presence of a number of their Excellencies the Ministers, and ambassadors of diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah; Minister of Culture and Sports, H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali; Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, H E Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari; Minister of Finance, H E Ali Shareef Al Emadi; Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs H E Yousef bin Mohammed Al Othman Fakhro; Minister of Transport and Communications, H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, H E Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Chairman of Qatari Businessmen Association, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani; Chairman of the Planning and Statistics Authority, Dr Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabet; and Director of Department of Protocol, Ibrahim Yousif Abdullah Fakhroo attended the event which was held at The Ritz-Carlton.
“We wish Kuwait, under the leadership of the Amir H H Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, all the best and we came to join and share with them this happiness,” said Al Muraikhi.
In a statement given on the sidelines of the event, he added that: “Qatar and Kuwait relations are excellent and both complement each other. The coordination between us is very strong in all international issues specially Gulf issues. Qataris when they visit Kuwait feel as if they are at their home and Kuwaitis also feel the same when they visit Qatar.”
Ambassador of Kuwait to Qatar, Hafeez Mohammed Al Ajmi, thanked Qataris for their participation with Kuwaiti brothers on National Day.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports participated in the national celebrations of the State of Kuwait through a number of festivities organized in Kuwait.
Souq Waqif also was hosted a number of cultural activities to celebrate Kuwait National Day under a theme of ‘Qatar-Kuwait One Nation’. A number of artistes from Kuwait and Qatar including famous singers and musicians performed in the shows held at the open theater of Souq Waqif.
