Dr. Khalid bin Mubarak Al-Shafi, Editor-in-Chief of The Peninsula, speaking at a Qatar TV talk show Al Haqiqa “The Truth” last night.
The visit of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to six west African countries came as a part of his previous visits that included European and Asian countries. The objective of the visit was to diversify the Qatari economy, said Dr. Khalid bin Mubarak Al-Shafi, Editor-in-Chief of The Peninsula.
Talking in a Qatar TV talk show Al Haqiqa “The Truth” last night, he said, “During the visit H H the Emir signed a number of agreements with these countries in the field of culture, economy and sports.”
Regarding a question about the siege nations’ media and its abuses on Qatar, he said, “The media of “the siege countries” are following the words of German politician Joseph Goebbels who had said that ‘Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth’. This is exactly what the siege countries are doing. They are spreading lies as if it is truth.”
Many officials and employees from the siege countries abused Qatar and its national figures and they can’t do that without approval from their countries and even some of them receive messages on WhatsApp to abuse Qatar, Dr. Al-Shafi said. He added that “the people in Saudi UAE and Bahrain are standing with Qatar and are against their countries but they can’t show sympathy with Qatar openly as they will be imprisoned and will have to face high fines from their governments.
The most who spread the abuses against Qatar from siege countries are people who are hired and use nicknames.
The siege countries own many media outlets compared to Qatar. All these media outlets were used to abuse Qatar and to fabricate news, but they have failed. They are not able to persuade people by their propaganda.
Qatar said that the GCC crisis must be solved through dialogue and it is ready to discuss all issues, but only with one condition that its sovereignty must be respected.
Commenting on the book published recently by Dr Rabia bin Sabah Al Kuwari about “Tamim Al Majd” image which became very popular in Qatar and became a way to express love, respect and loyalty to H H the Emir.
Dr Rabia bin Sabah Al Kuwari said that the book was launched on December 17, and it includes a number of pictures and also includes some articles written by Dr Rabia about the iconic image.
About the Emir’s visit and agreements signed, he said that the agreement were signed in the field of sport, culture and economic. Qatar has provided finance of around QR2bn to these countries.
Al Kuwari also said that Qatar’s media showed that it is stronger than siege countries and are able to provide truth.
