Manzoor Ahmad, General Secretary, QCA, Malik Nazar Mohammed, senior coach and Technical Adviser, and Abdul Salam, the coach, met with Principal Fahad Al Muslamani, a QCA press statement said.
The school’s sports teacher Sameh El Wakil was also present during the meeting.
The principal later introduced the school’s boy’s team to the QCA officials, it emerged.
The coaching classes for the team will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday, QCA officials said.
Principal Al Muslamani assured QCA, the school’s ‘full co-operation to promote cricket and help the boy’s team give serious attention to the coaching classes’ to be carried out soon.
Prior to the selection of the boy’s team, a four-week training period was organised in the school premises and attended by 30 students.
The QCA General Secretary informed the principal that the selected 20 boys will be extended coaching by qualified ACC cricket coaches at the Qatar Cricket Academy.
Later, the boy’s team will take part in an inter-school cricket tournament, QCA press statement said.
“Transportation will be organised for these boys and the travel schedule will be passed on to all concerned schools ahead of the tournament,” Ahmed said.
“I take this opportunity to personally thank the Principal Al Muslamani and Sports Teacher Sameh El Wakil for their co-operation and assistance in making coaching program success in the school,” Ahmed added in the press statement.
