Doha: Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) has removed several abandoned cars from various nature reserves in cooperation with the Joint Committee for the Removal of Abandoned Vehicles in the country, as well as the Department of Mechanical Equipment and Hygiene at the Ministry of Municipality and Lekhwiya.

According to MOECC, this comes within the framework of the ministry's efforts to maintain the cleanliness of gardens and nature reserves and to protect them from environmental damage resulting from this phenomenon.

The removal of abandoned cars in the state is a frequent initiative that comes as part of MOECC efforts to preserve the aesthetic view of the country in line with Law No. 18 of 2017 regarding public hygiene.

According to this Law, an abandoned vehicle is one that is left in any public space, including streets, sidewalks, and in front of houses in a manner that distorts public view or traffic safety.
