BUDAPEST: Felipe Massa yesterday expressed his disappointment with the current standard of stewarding in Formula One after rookie Kevin Magnussen was cleared of all blame in their collision at the German Grand Prix last weekend.
After the collision at the opening corner on lap one, Massa blamed Dane Magnussen of McLaren and asked other inexperienced drivers to be less reckless.
But speaking after learning Magnussen was regarded as blameless, ahead of this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix, he said: “So you see there is a lot to improve — even in the FIA. If the stewards are thinking like that, I don’t know who they are taking to be stewards to be honest.”
Asked if he wanted to speak to the sport’s ruling body, the International Motoring Federation, about their stewards, he said: “Yeah.”
