Public Prosecution signs cooperation deal with QFSW

DOHA: The Public Prosecution signed yesterday a cooperation agreement with Qatar Foundation for Social Work, under which the branch of the AMAN centre was opened within the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The opening came in the framework of the embodiment of the meaning of justice and social protection.

Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) CEO, Amal Abdullatif Al Mannai, said that the Public Prosecution reflects the meaning of justice and social protection, which is the ultimate goal of the QFSW and the centres under its umbrella. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is the result of a natural integration and a true and effective partnership. 

She added: “We at QFSW and the centres within its umbrella have taken the professional approach by applying international standards in the protection of women and children.” 

Al Mannai called on all partners, whether in the governmental or private sector or civil society, to adopt the scientific method based on a systematic vision in the developmental and social work, which is the essence of Qatar National Vision 2030.

“I am confident that this support will positively reflect on our missions and our future work, as I said the common goal between us and the  Public Prosecution are shared,” she said.

For his part, Mansoor Al Saadi, Executive Director of Aman Center said: “We are proud and proud of our strong partnership with the Public Prosecution.” Violence and family rift are present in most societies in the world and Qatari society is among this societies and include various nationalities of the Gulf, Arab and foreign, so this problem, although it is not a phenomenon in the state, but it is a reality.

He added that the unjust siege on our beloved country has undoubtedly contributed to the increase in cases of violence and family rift. The Center’s statistics for 2017 show that the number of cases of violence and family rift transferred between the centres and the prosecution has exceeded 50 cases of children and women. 

About 90 percent of these cases were solved in cooperation between the Family Prosecution and the Aman Center, taking into account the privacy and confidentiality of the family and avoiding the need to go to courts. Al Saadi pointed out that the opening of the branch of  Aman Center includes services of providing reception, counselling, social, psychological and legal meetings services, noting that this partnership would not have been possible without the full support of the Public Prosecution and the QFSW.
