Doha, Poongavanam-Qatar organised its first seed sharing event on 16 March 2018 at Ezdan Mall, Al Wakra. The group members shared the seeds of various vegetables plants among themselves, also their produces were displayed during in the event. The seeds shared were collected from the produce that had grown at their homes.
The event was the brain child of Ms. Noorul Firdhouse, the idea was initiated among members to share the seeds, as most of them were looking for quality organic seeds for the next planting season in Qatar.
Poongavanam - Qatar wants to educate its members and community on how to become self sustainable by growing their own vegetables, in-line with Qatar’s National vision to achieve self sufficiency in food production.
