Doha, Qatar: In overnight attacks and early hours of morning, Khan Younis in Gaza is experiencing an intense bombing causing civilian casualties including children.

Ministry of Health in the besieged territory said that its staff is digging graves in grounds of Nasser Hospital amid Israeli siege, which was corroborated by the UN report that stated that no one can enter or exit the facility.

Meanwhile Qatar, a key mediator, stated that it was appalled by alleged remarks attributed to Israeli Prime Minister concerning country's mediation efforts.

[2:55pm Doha Time] Israeli forces attack aid-seekers, killing at least 20

The spokesman for Gaza’s health ministry says an attack has been carried out on “hungry mouths” who queued for humanitarian relief in war-ravaged northern Gaza City.

“The Israeli occupation committed a new massacre against thousands of hungry mouths who were waiting for aid,” Dr Ashraf al-Qudra said in a statement on Telegram.

The attack occurred at the Kuwait Roundabout in Gaza City, killing at least 20 and wounding 150 others, he said.

The victims are being treated at Al-Shifa Hospital, which is out of medical supplies and only has a few doctors working, al-Qudra said.

[12:45pm Doha Time] ‘Urgent action’: Gaza at risk of complete medical shut down

Immediate action is required to prevent a complete shutdown of medical services in Gaza, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warns.

“Every functioning hospital in the Gaza Strip is overcrowded and short on medical supplies, fuel, food and water. Many are housing thousands of displaced families. And now two more facilities risk being lost due to the fighting,” said William Schomburg, head of the ICRC’s office in Gaza.

“The cumulative impact on the health system is devastating and urgent action must be taken.”

The Nasser Medical Complex and the European Hospital are the primary referral hospitals in the south of Gaza that serve about two million people, offering critical surgical and emergency medical services.

However, their existing capacity falls far short of meeting current demands for care, ICRC said.

[12:25pm Doha Time] ‘Unacceptable and abhorrent’ attacks on UN centre must stop: UN

The United Nations says 12 people are now confirmed dead and 75 wounded, 15 critically, during intensified fighting at and around a UN centre sheltering thousands of civilians in southern Gaza.

The UN training centre in the city of Khan Younis was hit by artillery and small-arms fire on Wednesday.

“Persistent attacks on civilian sites in Khan Younis are utterly unacceptable and must stop immediately,” said Thomas White, an official with the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

“The situation in Khan Younis underscores a consistent failure to uphold the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law: distinction, proportionality and precautions in carrying out attacks. This is unacceptable and abhorrent and must stop,” said White.
