DOHA: Spanish legend Xavi Hernandez-led Al Sadd thrashed Slovenian second tier club NK Radomlje 4-1 in a friendly encounter which took place in Austria yesterday.

Pedro Miguel, Hamza Al Sanhaji, Ahmed Sayyar and skipper Xavi were on target for the Qatari giants.

The Wolves are taking part in a training camp in Austria and are in the process of warming up for the new QNB Stare League (QSL) season.

Coached by Portuguese tactician Jesualdo Ferreira, Al Sadd will begin their QSL campaign against Al Kharaitiyat at the Khalifa International Stadium on August 5.

Elsewhere, yesterday, the reigning QSL champions Al Duhail met Turkish side Trabzonspor in another pre-season friendly, which ended in a one-all draw.

Al Duhail are also in Austria, taking part in a pre-season training camp.

Karim Boudiaf scored the opening goal of the match in the 42nd minute as Hugo Rodallega equalised just before the half time whistle.

It was their third pre-season friendly in Europe for the Qatrai giants who are coached by Tunisian Nabil Maloul.

Winners of the three trophies last season, Al Duhail are preparing for the season-opening clash against fierce rivals Al Rayyan in the Sheikh Jassim Cup clash on August 1.

Al Duhail meets Al Shahaniya four days later at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium to kick-off their QSL title defence.

Meanwhile, Al Gharafa will today take on Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in their second clash of the Friendly Tournament which is being played in Oman.

On Sunday, their Dutch star Wesley Sneijder scored twice as former QSL champions warmed up for the new season with a 2-0 win against Oman’s Al Nasr.

The tournament sees four teams competing.

Al Gharafa will take on Qatar SC on August 4 to kick off the new QSL season.
