DOHA: Ezdan Holding Group recorded a net profit of QR252.7m for the first quarter of 2013 compared to QR143.9m for the same period in 2012, reflecting an increase of 76 percent growth year-on-year.
The earnings per share (EPS) amounted to QR0.10 as of March 31, 2013, as against QR0.05 during the same period in 2012.
Announcing the results, Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani Al Thani, Chairman, Ezdan Holding Group, said the total profits from the rental recorded 71 percent growth for Q1 2013, compared to Q1 2012. The real estate major’s “occupancy profit” increased 81 percent compared to Q1 2012.
Sheikh Dr Khalid said Ezdan Group Holding will continue to keep in pace with the country’s development strategies and strive to increase the profits of the shareholders by launching more projects in the real estate sector.
Ezdan Holding Group CEO Ali Al Obeidly said the Group will continue to benefit from Qatar’s growth trajectory and further boost its net profit by serving the Qatari community, and launching more projects in the current fiscal too.
Ezdan Holding Group announced that it would launch its 32nd Village in Al Wakra. The project, meant for company staffs, consists of over 1,000 residential units capable of accommodating 5000 people. The new facility will provide health centres, healthy food and transportation services to the work sites in cooperation with the contracting companies.
In a separate statement, Dr Ayub Khalil Al Farej, General Manager of Ezdan Real Estate Company, said this is the first of its kind of Ezdan villages dedicated to company staff. The group will be working to provide residential units to private sector and the public sector companies, he said.
Ezdan will also provide training and development programme for all companies interested to improve the performance of employees and talents, including language skills. There will be special centre for this. It will announce the launch of another village for company staff soon and more major projects are in the pipeline, Dr Ayub said.
