Fans can also book accommodation through traditional means, such as hotel and holiday accommodation websites.

“We advise those who have booked their tickets to book their accommodation early,” said Al Jaber. He also clarified that accommodation for FIFA Qatar 2022 fans will start from $80 indicating that it is subject to change.

“The Hayya Card will provide a number of benefits, including free public transport for ticket holders on match days. It will also act as an entry permit to Qatar for international visitors,” said Saeed Al Kuwari, Executive Director of Hayya, SC.

“Once the card is approved, its digital copy can be downloaded onto a person’s smartphone. Visitors can also make use of one-day visit options as part of the programme. This will be beneficial for fans from neighbouring GCC countries,” he added.

According to Al Kuwari, lessons learnt during the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, when Hayya Card was first introduced had been helpful.

“Based on our previous experiences, we were able to enhance and simplify the registration process. It’ll be a completely different experience this time.

Things have been made more straightforward and a lot more features have been added, which will all be revealed in due course,” he said.

Capt. Mohammed Al Kkuwari, Safety and Security Operations Committee, representative said that Qatar set a goal to ensure a safe experience for fans during the tournament with the highest standards.

“Our goal is to ensure a safe experience for fans during the tournament with the highest standards,” he said.  The officials said that fans coming from outside Qatar must follow the instructions of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) regarding travel requirements to the country.
