MoI official urges public to follow COVID-19 guidelines for safety of all

Brigadier Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), has stressed the need to adhere to the measures and decisions taken by the authorities concerned to limit the spread of coronavirus and COVID-19.
“We must adhere to the decision and stop gatherings. It is unfortunate to see the gatherings on beaches and other places at a time when everyone warns of the danger posed by these gatherings,” he said.
Speaking to Qatar TV, Al Muftah, said: “Street patrols are deployed to ban gatherings and patrols are conducted  by various security departments to ensure that the decision taken are fully implemented in their geographical areas, either in Dukhan, the south, the north or Al Rayyan.”
Brigadier Al Muftah urged people to contact the department on 44579999 to report complaints regarding quarantine in hotels and homes and the cases of non-compliance with health and safety guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Regarding the efforts of the Ministry to confront the spread of the coronavirus, Brigadier Al Muftah said that the Ministry is working with the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management Chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani. 
He also stressed that gatherings at beaches, and unnecessary home visits should be stopped and all should abide by the decision so that we all can live in safety. "If one person is affected, it is possible to pass the infection on to many other people."
