Qatar attends 28th Session of Council of Arab Ministers of Communications

Cairo: The State of Qatar participated in the 28th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information that was held in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday.

Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Head of the Qatari delegation, Hassan Jassim Al Sayed, participated in this session which tackled numerous critical topics, foremost of which were the challenges faced by the communications sector in the State of Palestine and impact of war on the Gaza Strip. The session approved the Arab AI strategy and set an Arab vision on the global digital charter, which was issued by the Future Summit held in September 2024, on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly, and scrutinized its compatibility with the Arab digital agenda.

In addition, the session discussed Arab cooperation with other regional organizations operating in the domain of communications and information, Arab Digital Capital Concept, as well as Arab Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction by leveraging communications and information technology and approved a commemorative postage stamp to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Arab League.

The event endorsed the reports of the technical teams of the committees of communications and information technology and reviewed the latest preparations related to the participation of the Arab group in international conferences on communications and postage.
