Deauville: Owned in partnership by Infinity Nine Horses, Ecurie Des Monceaux, Qatar Racing Limited and Alexandre Giannotti two-year-old filly Mangoustine got her career off to the perfect start when taking the Prix De La Reboursiere (Maiden) at Deauville yesterday.

Mangoustine is trained by Frederic Rossi and was ridden to success by Christophe Soumillon.

Having broken sharply from stall one, Mangoustine was taken back by Soumillon and was settled in mid-division of the ten runner field. The free-going Spirited Account (Charm Spirit) led the field through the opening stages of the 1,600m contest. Mangoustine travelled well against the rail, despite being shuffled back on the turn for home.

On the run-in Mangoustine was momentarily caught on the heels of the leaders but once switched out for a run, the filly picked up smartly.

Inside the final 200m Mangoustine closed down the eventual runner-up Albea (Nathaniel) and went on to score by half a length. Mademoiselle Rose (Shalaa) endured some trouble in running and produced some good late work to take third.
