Doha: Nando’s is a brand about and for people. There is a famous saying among Nandocas (the name affectionately given to anyone working at Nando’s), “It’s more than just about the chicken. It’s about the people who make the chicken.”
Good people do good work, and that’s one of the key ingredients in Nando’s success. Throughout the year, Nando’s runs various programmes to recognise and reward the contribution of its people in driving desired business practices and results.
One such programme is the “Partner of the year Award,” which run across their eleven franchise markets from around the world. The programme is based on five key business pillars: People, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and Marketing, with each pillar receiving an award for excellence. This year’s Marketing pillar award goes to the Nando’s Qatar, Marketing team.

On winning the award, Sumit Ranjan, head of Marketing Nando’s Qatar said, “Keeping Pride, Passion, Courage, Integrity and Family (the Nando’s values) at the core of everything we do; to win any pillar is a challenging, yet motivating exercise. At the end of the day, all efforts that go in must create a memorable brand experience that Nando’s promises to its customers.
From keeping our menu contemporary, to launching appealing promotions, or even helping craft creative business solutions that are as exciting as our PERi-PERi flavours, it is all part of living the brand every single day.”
Congratulating Nando’s Qatar, Ashley Stansfield, Nando’s GM for Marketing in Middle East and South Asia, said, “As marketers, each and every day we work at building this amazing brand in the hearts and minds of our fans — and of course feeding them the world’s best chicken. It is a pleasure to work with someone of Sumit’s talent and the rest of the Nando’s Qatar team in advancing the brand’s efforts in the country.”
Sajed Sulaiman, Managing Director of Oryx group for food and services, Nando’s Qatar said, “Ever since the inception of Nando’s Qatar in 2001, we have aimed to bring people together to create exceptional and unique experiences. Keeping our customers satisfied and our people happy is the goal that we strive for to this day.
