Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced today that players Mohammed Montari and Abdelkarim Hassan will miss the upcoming match against the Kyrgyzstan national team, scheduled for Tuesday in the eighth round of Group A in the third round of qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, due to injuries.

In a statement on its official website, the QFA revealed that medical examinations conducted on the players showed that forward Mohammed Montari sustained an injury to his posterior thigh muscle during recent training sessions. Meanwhile, defender Abdelkarim Hassan suffered an ankle injury during the previous match against North Korea last Thursday, which saw the Qatari national team secure a decisive 5-1 victory in the seventh round. The expected recovery time for both players ranges from three to four weeks.

The Qatari national team delegation is scheduled to depart for the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, on Sunday evening after a final training session in Doha. The players will conduct their main training session for the match on Monday at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium.
