Chinese media delegation, The Peninsula explore cooperation

Doha, Qatar: To explore opportunities for partnership and cooperation between the two media houses, a delegation from China’s Guangxi TV and Radio Channel visited The Peninsula newspaper's office last week.

The meeting was attended by the Managing Editor, heads of local, editorial sections of The Peninsula and from the Guangxi TV and Radio Channel Xu Ninggang, Director of Guangxi Radio and Television Integrated Channel (Guangxi TV) headed the delegation comprising Liu Zun, Deputy Director of Guangxi Radio and Television Integrated Channel; Min Yujia, Producer of Guangxi Radio and Television Integrated Channel; and Pan Fubo, Deputy Director Editor of Guangxi Radio and Television Integrated Channel.

The meeting between the two sides explored opportunities to develop cooperation between the two media outlets.

The Managing Editor Mohammed Osman Ali welcomed the esteemed delegation from Guangxi TV and Radio Channel at The Peninsula saying that the visit will help develop new partnerships between the two media houses. “The meeting is an opportunity to explore and discuss areas of cooperation and exchange of materials that introduce cultural and event-related news content,” he added.

The visit was aimed at fostering mutual understanding, sharing resources, and creating synergies that could enhance content delivery, increase audience engagement, and streamline operations for both organisations.

A brief presentation was given to Chinese mediapersons on The Peninsula’s evolution and the newspaper’s embracing of new technological innovations to meet emerging digital media challenges.

The Peninsula’s digital reach through its website and different social media platforms was also discussed in the meeting.

Both media outlets recognised the value of sharing their expertise and multi-media content to strengthen their respective positions in an increasingly competitive media landscape.

By sharing ideas, knowledge, and resources, the two organisations aim to better serve their audiences in Qatar and China. Xu Ninggang, Director of Guangxi TV praised The Peninsula for its reporting standards, page layouts and vibrant online presence.

“We through Guangxi TV intend to promote Qatar in China as a tourist destination in the Middle East as it offers rich cultural attractions for the visitors from abroad,” Ninggang said.

During the meeting, both parties highlighted areas where they could benefit from mutual cooperation.

Both sides expressed interest in exchanging video content as well as promoting each other’s platforms across their respective social media platforms.

At the end of the visit, both media houses expressed a strong commitment to moving forward with their discussions. Future follow-up correspondence will be done to finalise details on the content sharing agreements, etc.
