Doha: The Criminal Court charged a man for insulting a woman at the Hamad International Airport and fined him QR5,000.

The verdict was delivered by a three-judge panel headed by Judge Mustafa Al-Badwihi. The other members of the panel were Judge Fatima Abdullah Al-Mal and Judge Abdulla Thaqil Al Shammari.

According to the victim, the accused insulted her using words that violated her dignity.

The case states that accused, while travelling on a shuttle bus after arriving at the Hamad International Airport on a flight, hit the victim with the foot and started insulting her using inappropriate words.

During the investigation, the defendant denied the charges against him. He stated that he was sitting on one of the seats in the crowded bus and was chatting on WhatsApp. While putting his feet one on top of the other, he accidentally hit the woman and, according to the accused, the woman spoke to him in words, which he couldn't understand.

After looking at the evidence collected during the investigation, the court found the man guilty and decided to fine him QR5,000.
