Qatari bourse index up 0.18pc

Doha: Qatar Exchange ended in in green yesterday adding 15.10 points (or 0.18 percent) to advance to 8,623.15 points from 8,608.05 on Monday. Among the top gainers were Qatar National Bank which was up 0.07 percent to QR134.40, Qatar Insurance rose 1.99 percent to QR69, Commercial Bank of Qatar gained 0.13 percent to QR76.50 and  Qatar Navigation was up by 0.76 percent to QR65. The banking and financial sector index was up 0.32 points, the consumer goods and services sector index lost 0.11 points, the industrial sector gained 0.39 points while the insurance sector dropped 1.52 points.
Dlala Holding elects Board Chairman
 
Doha: Qatar Exchange listed company Dlala Holding (DBIS) has elected a new chairman for its board of directors at its meeting held here. Dr Mohamed Nasser Al Qahtani has been elected as the chairman while the resignation of Rashid Ahmed Al Mannai as chairman and member of board of Dlala Holding has been accepted, a Qatar Exchange notification said yesterday. Nasser Hamad Al Saulaiti has been elected as vice-chairman of the board. At its meeting, the company also passed the resolution to call for electing a board member for the vacant seat to completed the term of the current board member in the next Annual General Meeting.
Oil tops $112
 
LONDON: Oil rose above $112 a barrel yesterday after Japan pledged to pump more money into its economy, adding to positive growth signals from the United States and China, the world’s top oil consumers.
Brent crude climbed 33 cents to $112.04 a barrel by 1500 GMT, while U.S. crude was up 33 cents from Friday at $95.89.
