Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 167 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 182 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 134,282
Out of the 167 new cases, 131 are community cases and 36 from travellers returning from abroad.
The Ministry also announced one death - aged 65 years old - who was receiving the necessary medical care.
So far, 236 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 137,229 and there are 2,711 active cases under treatment.
4678 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (8107 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,080,568 tests.
There are 24 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 285.
Two patients were admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical attention in intensive care currently to 37.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
