Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) reported scattered thunderstorms in southern and western parts of the country, accompanied by strong winds, which lead to rising dust and poor visibility at 1 kilometre at times.
Latest satellite images show the continued building of cumulus clouds on the western coast of the country, with thunderstorms and hail falling towards Dukhan, tweeted the weather department asking motorists to be careful.

“Wind activity due to clouds currently formed with low horizontal visibility. It is worth noting that the current state of rain during the summer has been repeated over the past years and is not considered an exceptional case,” tweeted the Head of Meteorology Department.
Some twitter users from the southern parts of the country posted videos of the rain and strong wind. A video posted by QMD showed it raining in Abu Samra, south of Qatar.
QMD urges all citizens and residents of Qatar to be extra careful and attentive during this weather.
