Ambassador of Nepal to Qatar H E Dr. Narad Nath Bharadwaj has said that the interaction of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani with the Editors-in-Chief of Qatar’s prominent newspapers has inspired the people of Qatar to give momentum to development and modernisation. 

“It has provided vision and commitment towards elevating Qatar’s global standing under the able leadership of H H the Amir,” he said, adding that the Prime Minister of Qatar has made it amply clear that Qatari government has demonstrated its competence and efficiency in successfully handling of COVID-19. 

“Strictly adhering to scientific and pragmatic approach to identifying, quarantining and treating the people infected by the disease, the health authorities of Qatar were able to instil confidence among the people who, in turn, wholeheartedly support the government’s policies and initiatives to combat the second wave of the pandemic.”

He said that maintaining an exquisite balance between public health and its economy, Qatar has set an example of successful governance system even in times of such crisis. 

“Now there is strong reason to believe that Qatar will soon be able to reduce the effect of the virus to the minimum possible level and to resume regular activities.”  

The Ambassador further said, “The commitment expressed by H E the Prime Minister of Qatar to ensure a decent life for expatriate workers deserves commendation. We are highly encouraged by the recent series of labour reforms adopted towards this end.” 

“We are amazed at the splendid success that Qatar has achieved in ensuring a smooth pace in the preparations of 2022 World Cup related infrastructures in spite of the setbacks caused by repeated waves of COVID-19.

We are confident that the World Cup 2022 which Qatar is going to host next year will stand out as a momentous event in the history of sports.” 

“The announcement to provide one million doses of vaccines to the unvaccinated visitors during the World Cup 2022 will definitely encourage visitors from all over the world,” the Ambassador said.
