DOHA: Al Arabi registered a 3-1 victory against Qatar Sports Club in the Volleyball Emir Cup competition at Al Arabi Sports Stadium, yesterday.
The Group B leaders won 3-1 (28-30, 25-18, 25-15, 28-26) in the first match yesterday.
Al Arabi lost the first set, which was closely-foughted by two points.
Al Arabi recovered from the opening set to clinch the second. Al Arabi grew in confidence as the match went on, and in the third set secured a ten point advantage at 25-15.
In the fourth set, Qatar Sports Club put up a fight, and Al Arabi were made to work to clinch the victory after securing the set 28-26.
Elsewhere in another match, Al Ahli battled past Al Sadd in the Group B encounter.
Al Ahli registered a 3-1 (25-19, 27-25, 22-25, 25-13 against bottom side Al Sadd, who lost their previous two games in the competition.
Al Ahli won the first two sets, but had to wait for victory after Al Sadd clinched the third set.
However, Al Ahli cruised in the fourth set to wrap up the match.
The final of the Emir Cup competition takes place on Saturday.
