Doha, Qatar: Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) has launched a free mobile app for diabetes management.
This app enables users to access diabetes management services offered by the association. The app is available for iPhone and Android under the name “QDA”.
Dr. Amel Adam, Head of Healthcare at Qatar Diabetes Association, said: “The aim of the application is to improve the continuity of care for people with diabetes. Unlike other chronic diseases, diabetes imposes on the person living with it, a great amount of decision-making and problem-solving.
“To be able to handle or manage his/her condition properly, frequent communication and guidance from medical team are needed. The app aims to provide this support and maintain continuous follow-up with our patients. In addition to the usual means of communication, QDA app will allow closer monitoring and support to our patients.”
Dr. Abdulla Al Hamaq, Executive Director of Qatar Diabetes Association, said: “The issuance of this application, which was designed in an innovative way that takes into account quality standards that serve the patients and the community, comes within the framework of our keenness to care for people living with diabetes and raise the quality of their lives.
“Those who at risk of developing diabetes can communicate to develop a nutritional plan for weight control and discuss ways to reduce risk factors and prevent diabetes. Of course, the app allows them to benefit from it and communicate with our medical team even if they are abroad.”
